About
Judy Tobar Lerner is a first-generation Ecuadorian-American who grew up in New York City, bouncing between Queens, Brooklyn, and Quito, Ecuador. Her educational journey has been dynamic, ranging from a military school in Ecuador to a PBL high school in Queens. She began her her academic journey began at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, focusing on Forensic Science, before pivoting toward a creative path in web and graphic design. She later earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern New Hampshire University, with a concentration in Diversity and Cultural Awareness.
She worked in the creative field, managing the photography and online presence of a prominent gallery in Chelsea, where she refined her love for design (and croissants from the dearly missed City Bakery). As she entered the corporate design world, she expanded her skills into print, producing a wide range of branded materials, brochures, and sales tools as an in-house designer. She now uses her design skills to support her community.
After a career shift that aligned her work with her values in education and community engagement, she is now based on the Westside of Los Angeles, where she focuses on her family and her passion for education.
